2010.03.23 Alien II

With the summer approaching, I am starting to get the itch to back out on the bike...with a camera?

You can find the beautiful in the least expected locations.

2010.02.18 Mixed Vegetables

For most of us, mixed vegetables would indeed be considered an everyday object. The people in our community that depend on Harvesters, on the other hand, consider them to be most valuable - right along with all of the other food in the warehouse. I had the opportunity to serve at Harvesters this evening with the AIA Pillars Class. It is a very impressive organization that is impacting thousands of lives in the Kansas City Metro on a daily basis.

My phone. Truly an everyday object.

I have been looking at this piece for weeks. And while Kel and I are still deciding where it should go in our home, I had to make an attempt to photograph it. My idea here is to bring out the lines and detail with different colors of light. Backlit with the TV (real high tech right) to provide the blue and lit from camera left with a candle to provide the warm, soft, i-wanna-take-a-nap-now glow. I think there is real potential here - especially for photographing reflective objects.

Lit these for the first time for this shot. Hope Kelly will forgive me.
